Mercer Select is a premier membership service for Mercer clients and others interested in news, views, and analysis on a broad spectrum of benefit, compensation, and HR issues. The service and its content are designed to give you the information you need to do your job more effectively.

Organized by topic and geography, Mercer Select is designed with simplicity and consistency in mind. Whether you only have time to scan the headlines or need to do in-depth research, Mercer Select has the content you need, and e-mail delivery options make it easy to keep up.

What’s on Mercer Select

The content available to you depends on your membership status. Topic pages available from the left navigation column include the following:

Select membership offerings

Mercer Select includes numerous membership offerings, based primarily on combinations of geographies and topics. Also, in several content-rich geography and topic areas, Mercer Select provides both basic and premium offerings, with the latter providing more extensive and specialized content in the relevant geography-topic area. Below is an overview of Mercer Select US and global offerings.

  • US basic membership, for HR generalists, covers executive remuneration (exec rem), health & benefits (H&B), human capital and retirement topics. US basic members have access to Mercer articles, including Select News and most GRIST articles; about 30 full-text Today’s Headlines newspaper articles a day; and a wide spectrum of Library resources. Basic members can listen to our weekly HRadio podcast and can participate in our HRoom blog. In addition, basic members can sign up for e-mail delivery of GRIST, Today’s Headlines, and Weekly Highlights, and can request customized research assistance (charges apply).
  • US premium membership offers topic-specific premium options: Exec Rem, H&B, and Retirement. Uniquely designed for specialists, premium offerings include the most high-value analysis and insights from Mercer and other sources in each topic area. US premium members have access to all of the content available to US basic members, plus additional information and features:

    o          Additional, high-value articles from Mercer (including selected GRIST articles), Today’s Headlines and Library sections. US premium content is denoted as (US Premium).

  • o          US H&B premium members can access H&B ComplianceConnection, which provides primer materials on major US health and benefit issues, organized by employee life events (e.g., hiring, marriage, termination) and topics. H&B ComplianceConnection assists with the administration of health care and group benefit plans and includes sample notices and forms, compliance calendars, and a glossary of important terms.

    o          US Retirement premium members can access an online training course on the basics of retirement plans in the US. The course is intended for staff with minimal or no experience with retirement plans. US Retirement premium members can allow up to 10 of their colleagues to take the 2.5 hour course.

  • US Social Security & Medicare (US SS&M) membership is tailored to those focused on issues pertaining to the US Social Security & Medicare programs. US SS&M members have access to the Social Security and Medicare News quarterly newsletter; an annual Online Guide to Social Security and Medicare; and the Social Security Benefits Calculator for retirement, survivors, and disability benefits. Also, they have access to GRIST, Select News, Today’s Headlines, and Library content on SS&M topics. US SS&M members are automatically signed up to receive our Weekly Highlights e-mail publication.
  • US HIPAA Toolkit membership provides sample policies and procedures, a risk analysis workbook and other helpful resources designed to help organizations manage their ongoing HIPAA security compliance obligations. The Toolkit includes information on recent HIPAA enforcement activities, Mercer publications on HIPAA, and summaries of the latest government security guidance. US HIPAA Toolkit members are also provided access to US HRKnowHow (see below), and are automatically signed up to receive our Weekly Highlights e-mail publication.
  • US HRKnowHow membership provides a sampling of Select H&B content. This membership includes access to ComplianceLink, an introductory version of H&B ComplianceConnection that provides information on health care and group benefit plan administration through topic pages, notices and forms, and compliance calendars. US HRKnowHow members are automatically signed up to receive our Weekly Highlights e-mail publication.
  • Global Insights membership provides access to compensation, benefits, mobility, and HR policies and practices for multinationals and companies entering global markets. The rich and varied reports give timely and comprehensive global coverage of HR issues. Subscribers can also access valuable tools including video presentations and podcasts.

    o          Global Insights basic members can access 15 annual publications selected at the start of membership.

    o          Global Insights premium members have unlimited access to all Insights publications (we expect about 50 for 2008), plus related Mercer, newspaper and other third-party content from around the world.
