Blogs provide Select members with a special forum to debate hot HR topics with Washington Resource Group (WRG) experts. All Select visitors can enjoy a variety of perspectives on the range of HR issues in the HRoom blog, coordinated by Harry Conaway, the head of Mercers WRG and US Information Research Center (US IRC). And Exec Rem premium members have access to the ExecSuite blog on executive remuneration, hosted by Mark Borges, an Exec Rem lawyer in Mercers WRG.
GRIST is a family of products published by WRG lawyers and technical experts covering major legislative, regulatory, and judicial issues affecting employee benefit, compensation, and human resource (HR) programs. GRIST provides notification and analysis in three forms depending on the complexity and urgency of the material:
GRIST articles are available in the "From Mercer" section of the Select website. Select members can receive GRIST via e-mail according to areas of interest. All of a day's GRIST articles are available via a single e-mail at day's end (typically 5:30 PM US Eastern). GRIST Alerts are e-mailed immediately, soon after the news breaks.
imercer.com Publications provide detailed discussions on a diverse range of global HR, compensation, and talent issues. Previously only sold individually, these reports and surveys include the Global HR Fact Book and Worldwide Benefit & Employment Guides. Also included is the Mercer 350, an annual survey from Mercer and the Wall Street Journal on CEO compensation at 350 major industrial and service companies. Check out imercer.com for more details on these and other publications and surveys.
Library digests summarize and link to articles in an extensive collection of HR-focused periodicals, publications, surveys, and electronic media. Select members gain a valuable and time-saving compilation of HR publications, including Health Affairs, Journal of Financial Planning, Benefits Law Journal, and Ivey Business Journal.
News articles are short WRG-produced summaries of breaking developments from around Washington and across the nation. Often, news synopses provide links to primary source materials, such as press releases, court decisions, and full-text articles.
Perspectives are analyses and viewpoints written by Mercers Retirement, H&B, and Human Capital businesses and the WRG on major issues, such as nonqualified deferred compensation, retirement education, and preparedness for global pandemics. Typically, Perspectives are published once or twice a month.
Social Security and Medicare Newsletter makes details of these programs available electronically and via e-mail to members of Mercer Select Social Security and Medicare offering. Articles covering the Medicare prescription drug benefit, the repeal of the retirement earnings limit for older workers, and frequently asked questions about Social Security statements are presented along with vital statistics and user-friendly tables and charts.
Todays Headlines is a daily compilation of major benefit, compensation, and HR articles published in major newspapers, periodicals, wire services, and websites. Articles in Today's Headlines are selected from national newspapers and magazines, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, BusinessWeek, and US News & World Report. The WRG publishes Todays Headlines to Mercer Select and distributes it by e-mail every business day by 9 a.m. (Eastern).
Updates give brief analyses of news and developments or practical guidance on HR issues. Mercers Retirement, H&B, and Human Capital businesses along with the WRG publish Updates as developments warrant typically two or three times a month.
Web briefings are free, one-hour, live presentations of current benefit, compensation, and HR issues presented by Mercers Retirement, H&B, and Human Capital businesses and the WRG.
Weekly Highlights compile each weeks major judicial, regulatory, and legislative developments affecting retirement, health, compensation, employment, and other HR programs. Each issue includes summaries of all GRISTs published during the past week, as well as WRG-authored news items and other articles. The WRG publishes Weekly Highlights to Mercer Select and distributes it by e-mail every Monday.
