Update: US equity markets see gains in second quarter of 2007, Mercer IC reports

All equity markets gained in the second quarter of 2007, reports the latest Defined Contribution Universe Summary from Mercer Investment Consulting (IC). The S&P 500 Index rose 6.3%, while the fixed-income asset class turned in a slightly negative quarter. Money market instruments edged up 1.3%, and the balanced asset class gained 3.5%. International equity markets rose 6.4% in the second quarter.
