Update: Survey on US Department of Health & Human Services transparency initiative

In response to an Executive Order issued by President Bush last August, Health & Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt is asking employers to voluntarily support "four cornerstones" of value-driven health care: transparency in care quality, transparency in pricing, health information technology standards, and incentives that promote quality and efficiency in health care. Earlier this year, the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) and Mercer Health & Benefits LLC conducted a survey to assess employer awareness of and support for this initiative.
